Sailing in Canberra - for the whole family!
There are four clubs currently sailing in the ACT. If you would love to be on the water in the nation's capital, get in touch with one of the fantastic organisations below and they will be more than happy to help!
Canberra Yacht Club. Alexandrina Drive, Lotus Bay, Lake Burley Griffin. CYC can provide a wide range of sailing opportunities including racing at local, national and international levels. Contact: Matt Owen 6273 4777.
Sea Scout Groups. Lake Burley Griffin, Alexandrina Drive, Yarralumla; Lake Ginninderra, Beisel St, Belconnen; Lake Tuggeranong, Mortimer Lewis Drive, Greenway. Contact: Chris Martin 0420 521 630.
Sailability. Lake Tuggeranong, Mortimer Lewis Drive, Greenway (next to Sea Scouts). Sailing for the able-bodied and those with disabilities. The club races Access dinghies locally and internationally. These have a weighted keel and low seating position which make them very stable and good for beginners and people with disabilities. YMCA Sailing Club. Alexandrina Drive, Yarralumla Bay. Focus on attracting families and young people. There is also an ocean racing contingent. Contact: Tara Ducker 0411 242 888
